After such a beautiful weekend, I got up at 7 this morning to a developing hurricane. The winds got up to 95km an hour. It knocked one of my garden sheds completely over and I sure as hell wasn't going outside to fix it. It's in a tangled mess out there now, so I will take it to our local dump during the week.

The winds have settled down to 45 - 69kms an hour now, and the dust and rain clouds have all but disappeared. Needless to say, miss7 didn't go to school, and miss4 didn't go to the babysitters either. I was going to do the grocery shopping while they were both out today, but don't think I'm gunna do that either. Don't know what we are gunna eat for tea tonight though...

The Show is in town this week (like a carnival with rides and show bags etc...) and as it is Saturday, we decided to go today. This entailed miss7 in a wheelchair (can't hop the complete circumference of the place on crutches), miss4, hormonal son and myself.

After a couple of hours of pushing through crowds, the exorbitant prices (lunch alone cost $35 for 2 plain chicken burgers, 2 dagwood dogs and 4 cokes) and lets not forget the bloody flies; hormonal son and I had had enough.

The girls scored well though with 2 show bags and assorted ric rac. And I did manage to get myself a brand new 'Guess' shoulder bag.

Well at least it's over and done with. Now I just have to live through the sugar high *sigh*

Suddenly miss4 turns to me and said 'Gee I'm getting old'. In shock I replied 'What... your four years old'!!!

'Yeah, but my back hurts' was her snappy come back... I laughed so hard my sides hurt.

I was a little apprehensive about putting the little bundle in Sarah's cage just in case we had another prowler.

Well this morning I got up nice and early (erggg, another fitful night of not much sleep), at 6am and grabbed little Jessica and gave her a cuddle while I perused the internet.

About 9am I put her out into the rabbit cage and brought the cat in to be fed. Well... Fluffy being a sticky beak just had to investigate the bathroom to see what the interesting smell was. I could hear him making quite a bit of noise, while I was making breakfast, so decided to investigate.

Here is what I found;

I put this empty beer carton (no I don't drink beer, my son does... yuck) in the bathroom just so Jessica didn't have to sleep all night on the cold tiles. Mr stick his nose in everywhere just had to see if it would make a comfy place to sit

I'm just about run off my feet just lately. I knew the girls would be extra work to look after on my own, but I didn't realise my feet would hardly ever hit the ground. I suppose there is so much extra to do because miss6 can't really look after herself at the moment either. Anyway, by the night time, rather than blog all I want to do is watch a little tv and then hit the sack.

On other news, our poor rabbit Sarah has been attacked by a bird. I was mad at fluffy to start with, but the vet reckons it wasn't a cat that done the damage. Whatever it was has attacked both of her eyes and if she lives through the day and night she will definately lose one. She had somehow managed to get out of her cage (heard someone around the house last night), and the vet reckons it was probably fluffy (the cat) that saved her in the end. I'm not looking forward to telling either of the girls if Sarah dies; heck I'm rather fond of her myself. Shes a good rabbit and always got excited when she seen me

Well, a success of sorts; it's 6.18am, so I sort of slept in. Although in reality I did wake up at 5am, but that was miss6's fault; a nightmare (well, really a morning mare). So she is happily snoring her little head off in my bed, and since I couldn't get back to sleep, thought I would grace you all with my presence.

And no, to all you cheeky sods out there; I don't have a hangover. Although I do have a bit of a headache And I do feel like someone emptied a litter bin in my mouth (and I don't smoke, go figure).

Oh well, better start catching up on some blog reading...

It's 11pm so I suppose I had better go to bed. Had a couple of bottles of strongbow, so have a really good buzz going at the moment, lol Don't normally drink during the week, but I'm hoping the damn things will knock me out, and hopefully you guys won't hear from me at 4 or 5 in the morning.

You guys are the best, and thanks so much for the support you've been giving me. Ok, better drag my pickled arse to bed before I get all mushy on ya's, lol

Was no where near as bad as she thought it would be (tried to tell her it wouldn't be). Apparently the 'dragon' only yells at naughty boys and didn't give miss6 a lick of grief and at recess, because of the crutches, she was miss popularity.

Thanks for everyones concern. Shes a happy little camper.

Q: What's the difference between a catfish and a MIL?

A: One's a scum sucking bottom dweller, and the other one is a fish!

2. I wouldn't say that my MIL was ugly, but every time she puts on lipstick, it tries to crawl back into the tube.

3. Q: What do you have when your MIL is covered in concrete up to her shoulders?

A: Too little concrete!

4. A guy brings his dog into the vet and says, "Could you please cut my dog's tail off?" The vet examines the tail and says, "There is nothing wrong. Why would you want this done?" The man replies, "My MIL is coming to visit, and I don't want anything in the house to make her think that she is welcome!"

5. I bought my MIL a chair for Christmas, but she wouldn't plug it in.

6. A woman stopped by unannounced at her recently married son's house. She rang the doorbell and walked in. She was shocked to see her daughter-in-law lying on the couch, totally naked. Soft music was playing; and the aroma of perfume filled the room. "What are you doing?" she asked. "I'm waiting for my husband to come home from work," the daughter-in-law answered. "But you're naked!" the mother-in-law exclaimed. "This is my love dress," the daughter-in-law explained. "Love dress? But you're naked!" " My husband loves me to wear this dress," she explained. "It excites him to no end. Every time he sees me in this dress, he instantly becomes romantic and ravages me for hours on end. He can't get enough of me." The mother-in-law left. When she got home, she undressed, showered, put on her best perfume, dimmed the lights, put on a romantic CD, and laid on the couch waiting for her husband to arrive. Finally, her husband came home. He walked in and saw her laying there so provocatively. "What are you doing?" he asked. "This is my love dress," she whispered, sensually. "Needs ironing," he said.

7. A "rag and bone man" came to my MIL's house and said, "Excuse me missus, have you got any old beer bottles you can let me have?" At this, she indignantly replied, "Do I look as if I drink beer?" At this he said, "Sorry love, I suppose not. But, perhaps you have got some old vinegar bottles then?"

8. Q: Why do they bury mothers-in-law 18 feet down, when everyone else is buried 6 feet down?

A: Because, deep down, they really are very nice people.

9. Two lifeguards are working together on a beach when one of them notices sharks circling a woman who has drifted out a little too far. He begins to get up to race to her rescue when the other lifeguard grabs his arm and holds him back.
The first lifeguard says,"Why are you holding me back? We have to go save that woman!"
To which the other replies, "Don't worry. That woman is my mother-in-law."
"Are you trying to kill her?"
"Although the idea may be tempting, that is not my intent. Just watch."
With that, the sharks organize themselves beneath the woman, and ride her on their backs all the way to shore, safely depositing her.
"What in the world gave you the notion that would happen," asked the first lifeguard.
"Professional courtesy."

10. Q: Why would you rather deal with a vicious dog than your mother-in-law?

A: A vicious dog eventually lets go!

 Comments

Early morning

Errrrgggg... what am I doing awake at 6am... I did wake up earlier, but have only just managed to drag my toosh out of bed... It's too early...

Although on the up side it is a rather mild 4 degrees, unlike yesterday when it was 2 degrees at 9am (but then it did snow in Orange yesterday). I am so done with winter now. It's just not fun anymore... well not that it was fun to start with, but if it had been, it sure as hell isn't anymore.

Might get miss 6 off to school and maybe have a lay down for awhile; then try to clean this train wreck that I call a home.

He's on night shift this week, and has been in bed since 11am this morning (it's 9.30pm now); so it's time to kick his friggin arse out. Jeezus how much sleep does one person need; even doing shift work.

Might take my library books back tomorrow and find something worth reading as well. It's hell going to bed at night and not being able to read anything.

About bloody time!

I'm just so hungry this morning. Don't suppose I've eaten a whole lot in the last week (except for the mucus sliding down the back of my throat) and boy is my stomach letting me know today.

Jeez, reckon I could murder a great big piece of medium rare beef steak... drool... drool.

Oh god, I'm watching a Rachel Allen cooking show... oh hell my tummy hurts... I'm sooooo hungry... but then if I go out to the kitchen, it's cold out there... and it's warm in here (not a tight b*tch anymore; heater has hardly been off the last few days)... oh what to do, what to do.

I have had breakfast this morning... my tummy shouldn't be giving me these problems... doesn't it realise that the next ice age has already arrived outside of this loungeroom (stupid stomach).

Hmmm, will have to ponder my problem a little longer

Got my sense of smell back earlier today, after an absence of 3 days (tell ya what; it help clean up the girls spew when ya can't smell it, lol) and I was quite happy with it's return.

Well I just made myself some mushroom and bacon soup which I managed to taste for the first two soup spoons full... it's gone again... my sense of smell that is... it's like drinking hot water with lumps in it... this is a damn flu with a vengence

Miss6 isn't well either. She got up this morning and told me she had, had an accident. I thought she meant she had wet the bed, so I wasn't in too much of a hurry to change it. I went in a little later today to change her sheets and air out her mattress; no what she meant was that she had thrown up all over her bed!!! Oh bugger!!! What a mess... I didn't even smell it. Yeah, this is what I feel like doing today; changing spewy bed linen. Poor little thing was too scared to tell me because she has an excursion with school tomorrow and doesn't want me to keep her home.

Ok, better get a wiggle on as it's tubby time for the tin lids...

Return to Haunted Hill is on Austar tonight; so since I've never seen it before I'm gunna have a look see. If it turn out to be utter crap, I'm gunna put Sweeny Todd with Johnny Depp on.

Got another little girl being dropped off at 3.30pm, so I'll take all of them to the party while her mother has 101 other things she has to do (my poor girlfriend has 5 kids; she actually sometimes meets herself coming in the door as shes going out, lol).

Done so much today, but I feel like I've done nothing... does that make sense?

Better get going; it's 2.55pm and hubby is picking miss6 up from School. Haven't even wrapped the gift yet.

Was only going to come in here to check on replies etc... and got talking to Playwriter, lol. Your a bad influence woman

It's 11am and I've got to have a shower before going out to pay bills, before I have to pick up miss6 and a little friend of hers to take them to a birthday party this arvo.

Ciao

My flickr pages don't take as long to load as this does just lately; and they are full of my pictures and photos.

Anyway at least it's a little warmer today than it was yesterday; yep even tight old b*tch me left the heater on all day up until 10pm lastnight. And we all know how I hate wasting money on gas (just insert emoticon here; 'big cheesy grin'. I did try to add it, but I could feel myself growing older while I was waiting for the damn thing to load).

The girls bedroom is starting to look really cute now, and it's actually clean... yes clean! Only because I won't let the girls go in there until bedtime; even the cat gets booted out of the room.

Well, just a bit of a ramble today; better go and check tea and will catch you guys later (insert waving smiley here, not even gunna bother this time.

Miss4 had picked up the cat tonight to take him up to hers and miss6 bedroom. The cat put both front claws either side of her head and bit her on the face.

Sorry to say, the poor fella is going to have to go.

I know she has been rough to him in the past; but she was actually starting to be more gentle with him, and he still did this to her. It's a case of my daughter or the cat. I really did love this cat, but I can't have him doing this. It could be much worse next time.

Bye Fluffy

I feel awful today. I have a sore throat and think I'm getting a cold (oh goody)

Ok, have promised myself and the girls I would only be on here a little while; so I will come back in later to read more posts. <img src="/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":>>" class="middle" border="0">

July 16, 2008,

A man stabbed a teenager to death before cutting off his head and using it as a puppet and a bowling ball, a court has been told.

James Patrick Roughan, 28, has pleaded not guilty in the Supreme Court in Brisbane to murdering 17-year-old Morgan Jay Shepherd on March 29, 2005.

Instead, he pleaded guilty to a charge of accessary to murder after the fact, but the crown rejected the plea and is proceeding with a murder trial.

Roughan also pleaded guilty to one count of interfering with a corpse.

Mr Shepherd's headless body was found in a shallow grave near Dayboro, west of Brisbane, on April 1, 2005.

The court was on Wednesday told the teenager died after being stabbed more than 133 times, and that his head had been sawn off.

Prosecutor David Meredith told the court Roughan and his friend, Christopher Clark Jones, 24, had murdered Mr Shepherd after becoming embroiled in an argument during a drinking session at Roughan's home in Sandgate, north of Brisbane.

In his opening address, Mr Meredith told the jury several witnesses would testify that they overheard Jones and Roughan boasting about the killing.

He said one witness would say Jones spoke of holding Mr Shepherd down and stomping on him several times before both he and Roughan stabbed him with a knife.

Mr Meredith said Jones also told friends that Roughan used the head like a puppet and a bowling ball, which Roughan denied.

The court was told the pair enlisted a friend to help dispose of the body, and that they later drove back to Dayboro to bury the body more carefully.

Three people have already been sentenced for helping to dispose of the corpse.

Mr Meredith said Roughan and Jones blamed each other for the "thrill kill", but that "both of them were equally involved" in the death.

He said the "barbaric" killing appeared to have had no motive, but may have been fuelled by the consumption of alcohol.

The trial continues.
