Was bound to happen

Well I really was bound to happen, can't really say I'm surprised.

Miss4 had picked up the cat tonight to take him up to hers and miss6 bedroom. The cat put both front claws either side of her head and bit her on the face.

Sorry to say, the poor fella is going to have to go.

I know she has been rough to him in the past; but she was actually starting to be more gentle with him, and he still did this to her. It's a case of my daughter or the cat. I really did love this cat, but I can't have him doing this. It could be much worse next time.

  Yeah, I knew he would J; but I thought it would be in the form of a scratch; not a bite on the face. But I'm gunna give him one more chance anyway. I've told miss4 she isn't allowed to pick him up anymore, and so far it's working (don't have any trouble with miss6 picking him up).

That is a shame, but does he have to go. Can't you just tell her she mustn't touch him and keep them separate. If she has been rough to him in the past then it is not surprising that he was aggressive to her, he cannot understand that she has changed.

It is a worry. Because she's very young and may forget about the incident.
It is a difficult decision.

Oh dear, I don't blame you for putting the cat on a final warning, that was quite bad behaviour. I think I must have been lucky with the cat that I had when my kids were little, she never bit or scratched anyone. I did teach the kids to be gentle with her tho' and most of the time, she just kept out of their way, but she was quite patient with my youngest daughter (who was determined to use the cat as a substitute doll) pushing her around in the pram and putting hats on her. As a dog person, Misty was the only cat that I have owned, she was a white smooth hair, I found her lost in hedges when she was very tiny. She was my friend for 16years.

  He's pretty tolerant though; miss4 treats him pretty rough. If it had have been our other cat Smokey (my son has him now), it would have been worse.
  
  He's still affectionate toward her, and she still obviously loves him; so it's good to see neither of them harbour any ill feelings
