Yep, you read right! Big W started their toys, Christmas Laybys today; $2 deposit fee and you don't have to pick them up until Christmas eve. A good idea you think? Yeah right!

The problem with this idea, is everyone thinks it's a good idea. And if you don't get there early, you won't get those badly wanted toys that your little precious angel has so sweetly begged you to ask Santa for.

So hubby and I were there as early as possible this morning; 9.30am after taking miss6 to school and managing to drag badly hung over hormonal son out of his own bed to come to our place and look after miss4, so we can still pretend that Santa really does deliver at Christmas.

Well it was absolute bedlam when we got there; hubby went one way to make sure he got the ever precious Barbie Mariposa with butterfly wings, and I went the other to make sure I got the, FurReal life like cat (did I mention we had a real cat at home?). And all of the other stuff my little bundles just have to have at Christmas.

All the pushing and shoving was the more pleasant of our trip, as we walked to the end of the layby line... THREE HOURS... THREE BLOODY FOOT ACHING, BACK CRUNCHING, HIP THROBBING HOURS...we stood in that damn line waiting to get these damn toys put away for Christmas.

And believe it or not, hubby and I do this to avoid the Christmas rush...
